Warranty Information

We built our reputation on quality, performance product and we stand behind it with a one year limited warranty on manufacturer's defaults.

We want to provide you with excellent customer service when you need to return product. Please follow this procedure as it will enable us to give you the best service possible.

  • Before returning any items, please make sure you have an R.A #. (Return Authorization Number). This is basically your tracking number.
  • Return Authorization numbers (RA's) must be issued by Smith, via phone, fax or e-mail.
  • All warranty claims must be accompanied with a PROOF OF PURCHASE from an authorized dealer.
  • All returns are best sent directly to Smith Optics. Please use the street address below for the most prompt service. Make sure you use a traceable method of return e.g. courier or Registered Post. We cannot be responsible for lost packages. Please also ensure that your product is packaged well to avoid damage in transit (a box is best). Smith Optics takes no responsibility for damage in transit.
  • Make sure you include your name, return address and a phone number.
  • Smith Optics will assess your return, and then advise you of the outcome.
  • Smith Optics will do our best to turn around the return within 7 - 10 days of receiving the return (depending on problem).
  • Smith Optics reserves the right to any decision on a faulty item.

Your benefits under this Smith Optics warranty are in addition to your other rights and remedies under a law in relation to this product. Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and for compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. You are also entitled to have the goods repaired or replaced if the goods fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure.

Scope and Duration of the Warranty: This warranty program lasts for one year from purchase. This warranty program covers all parts of your Smith product and applies to all types of manufacturing defects or failure. The warranty program does not cover product that is lost, stolen, dropped, shattered, sat on, chewed by your pet or any other damage that is caused by the consumer.

Helmet crash replacement policy: Within a period of 2 years after the original date of purchase, SMITH will replace crash damaged helmets at a discount of 30% off the RRP. Helmet replacements are limited to 1 unit per year. This policy is only applicable to original owners of the product and requires a proof of purchase receipt. The consumer must return the helmet and receipt copy to: Smith Optics, 63 Centennial Circuit, Byron Bay, NSW 2481. The consumer will also need to contact our Returns Department and follow the procedure explained above.
